Minutes: LANA Meeting November 8, 2005

Meeting came to order at 7:00 PM

Attendance: Approximately 60.

President’s report:

2nd annual LANA Party follow up and special thanks to Lisa and Michael Faughnan for offering their home and hard work to make the party a huge success. Also thanks to Pamela Burns for her hard work.

We discussed the SDG&E substation refurbishment and the problem house on the corner of Hoover and Penkea. OPD’s Cpl Karla Williams gave a report.

City Council member Rock Chavez announced that the Buddy Todd Park reuse project was to be put on hold. (This matter was resolved the next day and did in fact move forward).

We presented the map for a planned subdivision on Loma Alta at Walsh Street and we received a presentation by Oceanside Fire Department’s Battalion Chief Bob Cotton regarding the planned fire station for the corner of Foussat and Mission (it is a beautiful “Mission style” building, everyone in attendance was very much in favor of the concept and design).

Frank Watanabe presented his designs for traffic circles on Barnwell and Hoover and will request funding from City Council in December. He will paint a temporary design on Barnwell to illustrate the dimensions of the circle and to allow residents the opportunity to see the “footprint”.

Please plan to attend the City Council meeting in December to show support for this important initiative.

Greg talked to the group in attendance regarding the importance of professional decorum at LANA meetings. It is imperative that we show respect for all guests in order to receive respect and gain success in our collective initiatives.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:50.
